Coffee? YUP! Great Coffee? YUP!! At the corner of 43rd and Pecos, womplers will find a bastion of excellent coffee, friendly staff and a cool inside- out vibe that sets Huck apart from the rest of the Denver coffee scene.
Coffee:
A marvelous drip of Gitwe (Burundi) paired with their espresso gave a fruity (tangerine) with honey flavor. Love the fact that Huck puts their drips on display with tasting notes and has a coffee club for those who are regulars. Oh, and for you tea drinkers, a very robust Rishi tea menu; a nice touch. Their foundational element as a shop is that people are first; whether it’s the growers, distributors, roasters, baristas, coffee guides and customers….. and it shines through in the blends.
Barista:
Super bueno! The barista and the coffee guide were happy to answer any questions and talked about where they get their beans, how they are sourced, their processing and brewing methods and even engaged in where else we should visit when in Denver. Like that sense of community.
VIBE:
They are crushing vibe. Totally unpretentious with pretty comfortable indoor seating separated by their coffee display. They even have some counter seating next to the register. The inside gives off a homey yet light filled environ. Great indie music being played as well. There is a rolling window that can open to bring the outside space into being as well. The outside is largely picnic tables and outside furniture but services nicely. The Sunnyside neighborhood has a nice mix of architecture and seems to be making that awkward gentrification dance. Their merch is quite good from t shirts to hats to mugs that are really well done and varied. Food varieties were nicely played with the standout being the avocado toast but the pastries were quite yummy.
Make You Better
Tough to play here - maybe some more comfy chairs inside? I am at a loss here and being nit picky.
